This is Roxy she is 5years old and i rescued her when she was 1.She had dermadex mange so bad that she had no fur and her skin is badly scared, rather then the previous owner having her treated they took her to vets and asked for her to be put to sleep as people kept staring at her.i found her on a rescue sight drove for 4 hours to go get,it took me 2 years to get her fur to grow back properly. She has so many allergys as well one of her worst it grass and pollen,But she is such a fantastic dog and never gets down dispite all her illnesses, She does alot of work going in to my school and working with special needs child. She is also part of a cynophobia group which is for children with fear of dogs. She truly is an insperational dog. This is Frankie he is 6 years old i rescued him from battersea dogs home when he was 6 months old,i was his 3rd owner as people would take him and have him for a few weeks then send him back saying that her keeps weeing on floor and chewing.Which was obviously going to happen he was a pup,so by time i got him he had really bad seperation issues and it took me about a year before he realised that i was his forever home and that he wasnt going any where. He is a fantastic dog and is part of the battersea dogs home agility display team. Roxy is a three year old rottie/lab from battersea Dogs and Cats home. We are her and now, final home. She was boisterous and untrained but took to training like a duck to water and loves to show off, winning many fancy dress and best tricks classes. She is great fun and makes us laugh everyday. my dear little 'Halo' just over a week ago at only 9 weeks old when he came home from the vets, we bought him home for the first time a week previous but unbeknown to any of us he was a very ill little man and was taken to the vets first thing the next morning where he stayed for a week, during that time he almost passed away but he is a little fighter and pulled through, which is why we called him 'Halo' as he certainly had angels watching over him he is now coming on leaps and bounds and makes our lives complete x Attachments:

This is Pippi. She is almost 7 years old and is a Pug/Chihuahua cross. Pippi came to me at roughly 2 and a half years old when her owner declared that either the vet put her down or she would "Do it herself!" - I originally took her on purely to save her from being PTS and find her a new home. She weighed almost 30lb (her idea weight is 12lb), had luxating patellas, a heart murmar, and severe fear-aggression issues, along with many hot spots due to food allergys. She had no training at all other than knowing how to use a puppy pad, would try to attack anything and anyone who came near her with the exception of the cat. It took well over a year before she came to trust that we would not hit her and that she didnt have to be afraid of people and other dogs. Since changing her diet and giving her lots of love she is now a lovely little dog who even lets my 18 month old nephew climb all over her - and no more health issues! The murmar has completely gone and her knees no longer bother her and she is at her ideal weight of 12lb. And the best part is she now has a loving home for life with a family who love her very much! She occasionally goes to the companion shows and shows off her favorite trick - Dancing! I couldnt ask for a better dog. Attachments:

Just 11 months ago, India was a street dog in Bulgaria, scavenging for food in a small village and severely malnourished. She was rescued by Colonel Angels Bulgarian Street Dogs where she immediately proved herself to be a very smart young lady. She was then rehomed in Germany where she is now training to be a search and rescue dog. This photo shows her getting used to wearing her harness for when she is transported by helicopter to be landed into inaccessible areas. Just goes to show what rescued dogs can do when given the chance of a new life. Attachments:

Poohcho is a Karachan shepherd dog who kept running away from his owner - the shepherd. He always ran away to the local rescue and hid when the shepherd came to take him back and give him a severe beating. Last week, he arrived at the rescue with bleeding eyes and a cauliflower ear, so he was traded for 2 sheep and now lives at the rescue. As he didn't have a name, a local Bulgarian boy whose mother has recently done the Dogs Trust educational course and is going to start teaching animal welfare in local schools, was asked to name him. I didn't expect him to come up with a name which means "soft and fluffy". I doubt Poohcho will care much because he is now safe. Attachments:

My family rescued Tara when she was about 18 months old i was only about 12/13, when we got her from the rescue she was pregnant and had 5 pups spayed soon after, she had come all the way over from ireland, she was very scared of men, we believe she was abused by men and hates loud bangs. She was very attached to my dad and was his dog for a dog that hated men she adored my dad, 4 years ago my dad passed, she has just now come too live with me n my oh as my mum wasnt able too give her the attention she needs any longer, shes now 11 years old ruffly very good with strange men that come into our house and really is the best rescue. shes gone through alot and is still an amazing dog.
